3.1 Introduction

This section introduces you to the process of responding to interview questions using the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) Story technique.

The STAR Story is a way of answering behavioural interview questions about ‘professional skills’ such as communication, initiative or teamwork. Typically, employers preface these questions with statements such as, ‘Tell me about a time when you…’ or ‘Give me an example of a time where you…’.
